Staging a Home for Sale
When it comes to selling a property, first impressions are significantly important. If you are trying to sell your home, you will most definitely have to spend some time to set it up for viewing. From the time the house goes on sale, the viewings will be held on a regular basis until the sale occurs.
What is Home Staging?
Home staging is a professional way of packaging a home to show off its best features and downplay the flaws to entice buyers and help them make an emotional connection. The process involves making simple, low-cost changes to a home to help it appeal to the greatest number of buyers and sell quickly.
Tips for staging your home for viewing:
– To sell a house, the house must be pristinely clean, you must de-clutter, move stuff around and have the rooms look nice and take care of all the personal items.
– Break down the house’s decor and “rebuild” it, starting with the furniture, then the artwork for the walls and, last, the accessories.
– Make the entrance hall look inviting and smell sweet. A drop of lightly scented essence works wonders. (Don’t overdo it with cheap smelling candles or air fresheners)
– For a more natural scent, fill rooms with potpourri and fresh flowers.
– Use mirrors in narrow or small areas to open rooms out and add a feeling of spaciousness.
– Complete all those little jobs you’ve been putting off. Replace missing door-knobs, re-grout tiles and brighten shabby furniture with throws and cushions.
– Depersonalize the space to make it easier for potential imagine how it would be like if they lived in your home. This can be done by removing collections of family photographs or other distractions.
– Remove furniture that is worn-looking, or those that simply don’t fit into the new design scheme.
